The Objects from Nature/The Nature of Objects is a continuation of a shared series of paintings and mixed media work by Flora Kanter and Pam Frederick. It is the next installment of a narrative of work that explores the shared themes of the natural world and inanimate objects, uniquely created in the artists’ abstract language.
Kanter and Frederick’s works are balanced together, delightfully playing off of each other’s energy throughout the exhibition. Kanter seeks to translate nature into man-made shapes and creations, while Frederick turns unidentified objects into something organic and familiar. The work is curious and clever, a constant toying between the recognizable and the imagined. The exhibition is at once a unique expression of each artist’s vision and style, and a unified thought on object and nature.
